Question about Dodge Stratus
If there was a short in the fuel pump it would plow the fuse for that circuit.Simple things to check are: listening to see if you can hear the fuel pump come on and off when you turn the ignition key to the run position.
Because of the newer cars having fuel injectors they require fuel to be set to them at a much higher pressure.
It would be over 33psi but now we are talking about tests that require special tools.
Also check the mileage on your car. If its over a 100k miles you may need a new pump.
