1996 Beretta Z26 Antifreeze Leak

Hi, I own a '96 Chevy Beretta Z26, and I just recently noticed that it's leaking antifreeze somewhere. When I pop open the hood, theres a line of antifreeze on the underneath side of the hood, down near the fan on the passenger's side, and there appears to be a small pool of coolant near the engine (drivers side). Does anyone have a clue as to what this is? I've been told it can be a bad water pump or bad intake gaskets. I'm 18 years old and know nothing about cars... Any advice would help! Thanks :]

You should run the engine and watch it to see if you can see where the leak is coming from, it is most likely coming from a hose or the water pump.

water pump sits to low for it to be leaking to the drivers side your most likely gonna be dealing with a leaking intake gasket which is common for the 3100 series engines

How to remove intake manifold on a 96 Chevrolet Beretta Z26

This is not the kind of job that can be described here. If you do not have a manual, special tools and more importantly the experience I would advise you take time to watch some youtube videos and find a baretta owners forum and get to know the people there.

Lower manifold leak 2004 chevy

If the lower (intake) manifold is leaking, which is very common, then you should either have an external antifreeze leak, or antifreeze into the oil. Oil will not go into the antifreeze. The coolant used in this car (DexCool) does, however, form an oily substance on the surface over time. I would recommend having the antifreeze flushed out, and the reservoir cleaned.

I just recently changed the heater core and added antifreeze to my 1990 Buick Skylark (2.5L) and noticed recently that the fluid level in my antifreeze reservoir is low. Wanted to know what the antifreeze...

There should be a fluid capacity chart in your owners manual. You can also just go ahead and fill the reservoir to the proper level with coolant and keep an eye on it. If after a week you notice it low again and you still can't find the spot where the leak is, I'd try using some good old stop leak. Also, take a look at your oil to see if it has coolant in it. If so, it will have a brownish grey sludge gathering around the oil filler cap. If that's where your coolant is leaking, you may have a leaking head gasket and that would explain why you can't find a leak elsewhere..

Motor oil spewing onto the engine. my car is a 1996 chevy cavalier and well maintaned. it has a radiator leak also. could the antifreeze be mixing with engine oil

Unfortunately, this sounds like you have a bad head gasket. The motor oil is most likely mixing with the antifreeze as well. This also explains the antifreeze leak.

I wish I had better news for you! :(

I need a picture or list of fuses for the passenger compartment fuse panel on a 1996 chevy beretta Z26

Usually there is a sticker on the back side of the fuse cover showing the fuse locations. Look in the owners manual that's in the glove box (if you have one), that will also show the list.

My 96 Eldo Norstar is overheating only when I idle. Pressure is good. No leaks but it needs fluid every other day or so. What could be the problem?

if you dont have external leaks.check crank case oil if it look like milk shake you have a head gasket leak or can lose coolant if you got a small intake leak the antifreeze leak in combustion chamber burn with gas.if all good .you have more water than antifreeze water will evaporate away causing low coolant then it will over heat.

Coolant leak on my chevy beretta from the ac unit

I would say that your heater core or one of the heater core hoses has started to leak. Check the hose clamps to make sure that they are tight. Fill the coolant system and run the car. Check to see where the leak is, you may need to put the car on ramps so that you can see the leak better.

Smelling antifreeze from the coolent A !
Definitely a leak!
Hopefully not a head gasket leak!
Try warming it up without any accessories on until it gets good and hot, pop the hood and look all around!
