Usually that means the rear bulb is burned out or wires are disconnected to that socket (also ground could be corroded there).

The rear bulb is burnt out. When ever a bulb burns out the side will blink twices as fast to let you know a bulb is not operating

Alpha Romeo 156 My Left hand indicator light stays on continually, does not flash. and when I turn the hazard light switch on both indicators continually glow.

Generally speaking, symptoms of a bad or failing turn signal bulb are usually the culprit...in your case, either it's the front left or rear bulb. Varies for different vehicle makes...common signs include:
  1. turn signal light staying on solid
  2. or blinking very fast
  3. or either sides of the bulbs stop blinking altogether.
To test this, make sure you reconnect everything you disconnected.
Turn the left signal light on; go to the front of the vehicle, is the turn signal bulb illuminated? If it lights up, even though it is not blinking obviously the bulb is okay. If it doesn't, replace it- problem solved. You'll do the same procedure for the rear turn signal Is that lit up? If not replace the bulb and the problem is solved.
Another common failure is when the turn signal blinks really fast, same procedure as mentioned above.
If both bulbs for the left side and right side illuminate but don't blink, the problem is in the steering column turn signal switch.
If the left or right side blinkers don't work properly at all...then check the integrated hazard warning/turn signal flasher relay- that may be defective; again, that's usually the case if both sides of the signal light don't work.
If you are blowing any fuses related to the flasher system, you have an electrical overload in the turn signal circuitry.

Turn signal blink fast but hazard blink proper what does this indicates

Maybe nothing, but check all your turn signal lights, front and rear. Often, a fast blinking flasher indicates a burnt bulb or one not working somewhere. If all are working, it just may be the nature of the turn switch and the flasher relay for it.

Drivers side turn signal blinking fast other side normal, bulb change didn't help

Even after bulb change, do all lamps work? Bad ground can be shown by weak or dim bulb sometimes and this can cause fast flashing. All bulbs which flash must be working and of normal brightness which is sometimes hard to tell when they blink really fast.

Front left turn signal blinking fast

If the front signal is blinking fast then theres a bulb out, check the rear to see if theres a bulb out, use the right side to see how many light are blinking and make sure the same is on the left, the main reason for fast blinking signal is a bulb is out on that side. good luck, have a nice day.

2006 Cobalt rear driver side blinker doesn't blink (front blinker does blink). However, the bulb is also the tail light bulb and works fine. What do I need to replace?

More than likely its the bulb, the bulb has two filements, one for brake and one for turn signal, If you take it out and hold it up to a light, i bet youll find with a close look one filiment is broken!

TURN SIGNAL BLINKS TO FAST RIGHT

The blinker usually blinks fast when a turn signal light is burnt or not contacting. Check the signal bulbs to see if they are contacting or in good condition. If that is not it. Try replacing the blinker under the dash.
