Vehicle Speed Signal
The vehicle speed signal is generated by the rear anti-lock brake sensor and sent to the 4-wheel anti-lock brake system (4WABS) module. The 4WABS module sends the vehicle speed signal via circuit 679 (GY/BK) to all systems which require a vehicle speed signal input.
Speedometer
The electronic speedometer receives a speed signal from the 4WABS module.

Take it to a qualified repair shop .

98 Pontiac gtp skips 3rd gear to overdrive at 40 mph. It also dies and speedometer goes crazy starts right back up every time.Is it an electrical problem?

Try disconnecting the torque converter. If it is the torque converter this will keep it from skipping but you won't have overdrive

The D4 light flashes and the speedometer goes back and forth while driving what causes this

the speedometer itself is in the transmission, so the d4 is telling you there is a code, which apperantely is your speedometer. if you could state your car model and year, i can post instructions on how to change it.

2000 ford windstar speedometer needle goes back and forth

replacing the speedometer cable will not fix your problem , your problem is the dash gauge it self on the windstar there is a magnet inside a small metal dish that controls the speedometer when the magnet fails it begins to catch the metal dish randomly , ... witch makes the speedometer go crazy
