I had 2 credit cards slide down between the folding lid and the side...the only way to get to them is to remove the cup holders. The first tech said to remove 2 screws...what two screws and where are they?

  • jeni0909 Apr 22, 2010

I have put brute force on the thing thinking that is the answer. There is a small 1" by 4 " piece of plastic that runs along the top edge of the middle of the cupholders. It does come off...but there are no screws and it appears that this small piece of plastic just serves as a flap to keep cups securly in place. Nothing else comes off...yanking isnt doing anything. It is solid as a rock.

  • jeni0909 Apr 22, 2010

The only thing /panel above my cup holder is the tranny stick...raidio is no where near. This is for the tribeca? The cup holder is right between the two seats...it has a retracting "door" type closure for it that opens in the middle when not in use.

  • jeni0909 Apr 22, 2010

Immediately behind the cup holder is the raised center console...what panel are you talking about here?

Hi,

Are you just trying to use it or do you want to remove it all together?

If trying to remove it from the centre console, then you will need to remove the centre console to detach it from underneath, You maybe able to remove the centre console without having to remove the seats.

What type of cup holder is it? Flip down, Push and pull or fixed base type?

Let me know how you get on, if you require further information let me know.

Thanks

Jason

If there are no visiable screws then it will be push clicked into place. There are covers which will go across the centre of the console. If these can't be removed then you have to just pull the whole middle section quite firmly and it should pop out. Just check the sides and back to make sure there are no little covers that need popping out to get to screws. If there are non then it is just clipped in place.

Once you pop the centre peice out then you can get to the cup holder from there.

If there are screws they will be located at the back of the cup holder. use a tourch to see if you can see them, if their is non then you will have to pull that centre section of the console out. There maybe a access panel on the side that you can get off to get to the area where your credit cards have dropped down.

    Ok,

Chances are you will have screws holding it in place but the panels below and above the cup holders and radio/cd player should come off.

There are properbly screws under those. unscrew these and the centre part should come away.

    Yep,

Where the raised part of the console is there should be some screws at the bottom of it, the centre of this should come out.

Once you get the middle of the raised console peice out inside it, you should be able to get to the underneathe of the cup holder. There has to be screws at the top or bottom holding the middle compartment into the raised console part.

How do I replace front wheel bearings on 2008

Hi, replacing the front wheel bearings on any vehicle is difficult if you don,t have the right tools, as the driveshaft and wheel hub (where the bearing is seated) needs to be removed. The hub housing the bearing may have to be heated (depending on corrosion) when the bearing is being pressed out, by using a heavy duty vice , and the new bearing is pressed in using the vice and the old bearing as a guide. I would strongly suggest you refer this repair to someone who has done this before, I personally would not undertake to change front bearings ever again, the first time for me was an experience I wouldn't want to undertake again. All the best.
