It does, but you should always check with a tester. they had a problem with the eye changing before the bayyery was bad.

Hi my 1.8 mrk 3 golf wont go over 3000 revs has no power when driving and surges when in traffic. please help we have changed spark plugs as there was discolourattion.

I would start with the catalitic converter. When you run your car there are 2 ways to know that your converter is going bad. 1 after running for a while the converter can get very hot, to the point that it starts to glow red. it is bad. 2 Again when you run for a while, check the exhaust at the back, this will be hot, but not so hot that you can't keep your hand about an inch away from the end of it. If it extremely hot this is an indicater that the converter is clogging up and causing the symtoms you described.

Alternator on car is charging but battery light indicater will

Bad connection. Re-do all alternator connections. Could be regulator, but, check connections first. If you found this helpful, please rate, thank you.

Flashers stay on all time

Your factory alarm is sensing the low voltage, and it assumes someone is trying to tamper with the battery. If you can't reset your alarm shortly after the jumper leads are attached, your battery is more than likely unable to hold a charge. Have a local autoparts store check your battery with a load meter to see if it is "dead".
You will want to do this asap since your car is more than likely running off the alternator, and it will fail very quickly if you continue to drive the vehicle.
