Question about 1997 Volkswagen Jetta
My 97 VW jetta has a surge in RPM while it is at idle. It goes from about 900 RPM to 1400 RPM then drops back down, a few seconds later it surges again and so on. It only does it after the car has been running for awhile and does not surge while driving. Ive checked for loose electrical connections but cant find anything. Any advice on what could be wrong?
It may be one of two things. A intermittent problem with the idle air control sensor or the throttle position sensor. Have the cars computer scanned at a local auto parts store to see if there is a pending code that has yet to turn on the check engine light.
