I assume that you have checked the signal lite flasher.no other ideas

Sounds like to me that part is just worn out and you should just replace the whole unit and be done with it.

sounds like a short in the back door. inspect and test wiring until you find and correct the problem

The fuse for the rear wiper is located in the interior fuse panel on the passenger door side of the dash. It is the 3rd one down from the top in the left column (#3) and it is a 15 amp.

Sounds like a prob I seen with a Jeep.......Yes, but I would be very careful. If it breaks a u-joint it could get hairy !!!!!!!!!

look for rear wiper fuse and relay.because both circuits is tie together . look in glove compartment for the manual .it will show where all fuses and relays located.

This could be a simple door adjustment. Have someone sit in the car while you push in on the hatch. See if the light goes off . If the light goes off, then adjust the striker plate so the hatch closes tighter.
