I am haveing problems with my 2001 aurora oldsmobile the dash is not working. (gauges)

Did you replace the fuel level sender in the gas tank; the one with the float on an arm that swivels and causes a little wiper to go across a resistance material? I've seen the little wiper break off and I've seen the resistance material worn through.

Look for a vacuum line off or leaking start in the engine compartment than work your way under dash usually in engine compartment but could be under dash usually passenger side or on the back of control switch on dash.

Sounds like you tripped the security system !Try you tube !

I agree with the body control module. They are troublesome on Auroras!

Classic 2001 Aurora problems!1) I have found the oil pressure light comes on intermittently as well. Check the oil quality and level. On mine I have not needed to do anything else.

These instrument clusters are known to be faulty.Replace cluster

LOOK UNDER PASSENGER SIDE OF THE DASH.REMOVE THE RIGHT SOUND INSULATOR.YOU WILL SEE BLOWER MOTOR ITS A TIGHT SPOT.FIRST DISABLE AIRBAGS FIRST SINCE YOU HAVE ONE IN DASH.FIRST TURN OFF RADIO.THEN DISCONNECT NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE FOR 15 TO 20 MINUTES SO THE AIR BAGS CAN DISCHARGE.BEFORE WORKING AROUND THE DASH OR STEERING WHEEL AREA.

does it make any sounds... what about warning lights on dash,... do all electrical components work ie. radio, guages etc. ?

the sensor is in behind the nosecone. but this should not effect the ac system . it would it the inside temp sender said that in the auto mode only. put it in defrost mode and the compressor should be on if not you have another problem (maybe low on freon)
