2001.5 Dodge Ram Diesel 2500 4x4 Brake Pedal drops to floor

2001.5 Dodge Ram Cummins Diesel 2500 4x4 Quad Cab w/4wheel disc/abs. Pedal goes to floor while normal braking, and the abs comes on. Panic braking is excellent. I've replaced a line to the back, and the left rear caliper, because it was sticking. I have bleed the system seven times, front and rear. Methods for bleeding have been vacuum, gravity, and with hose in fluid. I have replaced all the fluid with fresh. I am 100% positive that there is no air in the system. When the key is turned to run, the ABS does it's self-check, and then the light goes out.
Any help is appreciated.

It sounds like you have a bad mastercylinder cause when you panic brake it doesn't have time to bleed through the valve in the cylinder but under normal braking your foot is on pedal longer in turn giving the fluid time to bypass the valve in the mastercylinder in turn the pedal going to the floor.

Sound like your brake booster is not working it is either electric or fluid powered. Since the diesel doesnt produce vacuum it has a power assist instead of vacuum power like found on gas trucks and cars. if the booster in a car goes bad or if being towed and applied brake several times pedal will go to floor too.

Check the headlight switch. The power goes from the fuse to the headlight switch and then to the dash and running lights.

My truck leaks brake fluid after being shut off?

i think there could be air in the system and it takes a little while to work back to the reservoir and the release of the air is pushing out the fluid. try bleeding the entire brake system from each wheel to the master cylinder see if it stops it

2001 RAM 2500 Brake Pedal Goes to Floor

Excessive runout or wobble in a disc (Rotor) can increase pedal travel due to piston knockback and increase piston seal wear due to necessity of caliper to follow disc wobble. Thickness variation in a disc can also result in pedal pulsation, chatter and surge due to variation in brake output when disc section is uneven. Dishing or distortion can be caused by extreme heat and abuse of the brakes. Hope this helps, Good luck.

I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 5.9 Cummins Diesel No Brake Pedal

I worked on a Dodge car one time and I had a problem with the brakes almost similiar to yours. It turns out a cheap pair of brake pads can mess up your system. I would suggest Bendix pads I also noticed you didn't mention the rear shoes. Any way use better pads it might help.

2007 dodge 3500, 5.9 cummins,engine light on, fault code p2146, running rough

It's a code that signify's you have a voltage circuit problem with one or more fuel injectors. When a problem is found with the fuel injector circuit it affects fuel delivery on all the injectors and that is why it is running rough.

Good Luck

ABS / BRAKE LIGHT

just a thought but, disconnect the battery for 10 to 15 minutes to reset the memory. You might have a computer that is not resetting.

Also, even after resetting you might need to drive it to "force computer to recognize the faults are cleared.
