Trany want shift takes off in high speedodemeter dont work what do i do want shift up or down

See if ur ableto shift it at the trany with ur hand into gear go to underhood or under car to the transmission disconnect the leankage should popoff with screw driver maybe hard but it just pops up have someone start car hold foot on brake with ebrake on and shift it one click should be reverse take ebrake off and see if it goes in reverse if it does its ur shift solinoid right there werelinkage clips on if dont its inside ur transmissoin

It sounds like the shift diagnosis in the trany are sticking, check and replace also Chang trany filter and have it flashed

sounds like a vaccum problem to the trany some of them have a vaccum modeulator that tells the trany when to shift

have the trany filter and trany oil change if you dont your tranny will go out

the first thing i would do would be to check the trany fluid level,make sure engine is warm and then check, some of these vws dont have dip sticks to check the trany oil level,theres a procedure to check,so if yours doesnt have a dip stick you should take it somewhere and have the level checked and also check for leaks,if the trany oil is full then i would have the trany checked, also that check engine light may have something to do with the shifting problem,have the computer scanned, the codes will help you diagnose the problem,auto zone will scan it for free, there are other parts places that will also scan and give you a read out of the codes stored in the computer, hope this helps.

If that light is flashing that means there is a problem with the trany. If you continue to drive it, it will damage the trany. I suggest you get it into a trany shop as soon as possible. I guess, I would take it to a private shop, that specializes in automatic transmissions, instead of taking it to a dealer.

no belts in transmission 2-4 band slipping if its a 4l60e will need overhaul you just dont replace band you have to check out why it failed what about the drum the band wraps around should be check for wear the worn lining from band went some wear did he open filter when pan was down is that $1200 a guantee price whats the warranty is it a year or 12000 miles I'd get another opinion

sounds like a bad trans.
could be a shirft modualter which is vaccumm controlled.
check that before taking the trans out.

trans shifts by throttle pressure the linkage at the throttle body has to be working correctly and installed properly and adjusted properly good luck
