The Sentra is known to blow mass airflow sensors. If you bought an
aftermarket sensor and it says to reprogram the computer you are pretty
much out of luck. If it were me I would read the instructions again as
it probably means that you have to disconnect the battery for five
minutes and let the computer learn the new mass airflow sensor.
The mass airflow sensor, or MAF sensor, measures the
amount of air flowing into the engine through the air intake. The sensor
on your Nissan Sentra is located in the air intake tubing that runs
from the filter to the fuel injection system. If your Sentra is idling
rough, has problems starting and frequently stalls during normal
driving, it is likely that the MAF sensor is failing and needs to be
replaced.

Very easy for the Mass Air Flow Sensor....it is in the duct between the throttle body and the air filter box. Just unclamp the tube and remove the old and replace with the new.

The MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor is a very common problem with these along with the pickups. This isn't what you would call an inexpensive part. Definitely do some shopping before you buy one.

hi from the uk the location of mass air flow sensor on x type jag is as follows==it is on the r/h/side of the air filter cover with jaguar embossed on top? this sensor is just prior to the intake hose that connects to the motorised throttle body from filter connections underneath it to unplug and meter is held by two screws ?if memory serves ? may i suggest you remove the large hose and use a little wd40 or similar to clean /lubricate the throttle butterfly in throttle body throat at this point so as to prevent future sticking upsetting of idling ? hope this helps ?

My check engine light came on and the code came back saying that the mass air flow sensor was out. All I did was change the air filter even though I really didn't think it needed it, the light went off and has not come back on yet. Knock on wood!
