2004 Passat TDI won't start

The battery isn't dead. It's trying to start but won't. It's not weak either. It is turning over but just not starting up. It's a tdi diesel engine.

Thanks!!

Using the key, lock car/hold key over for 30 secs, then press/hold unlock button for 30 secs, that resets the alarm/immobiliser.OR does the pre heater coil light up orange then go out so that you can start car,or are you trying to start the car too soon or waiting too long after the light goes out.also try spare key, sometimes key looses code...as the pre heater is operated by opening the drivers door any delay...
have you tried wynns/redexe diesel treatment, could be dirty injectors.....
after trying all the above and you have no joy, come back to me, ta!

Sometimes battery cables can short the circuit; try getting them away from any metal or each other.

is the gas tank above 1/4?
is there spark. on all 4 to 6 spark plugs.
are all fuses good.
does the CEL lamp glow key on, if not the ECU/PCM is dead and there will be no spark or fueling ever. but fuses can blow and disable ECU.

2012 VW Jetta TDI battery won't hold charge and car only clicks and won't start

You need to charge your battery up more. Either get a battery charger or leave the jumper cables hooked up for a longer period of time.
Your battery was probably completely dead. You might even need a new battery...they really don't like to be completely drained.

2004 vw Passat TDI 130bhp not starting after >8hrs

simplest answer first, and this does not apply to a hot engine,The engine heaters work from a time switch on the door(would you believe)and the routine is, open door, climb in,put on belt, put key in ignition and turn on when orange light goes out.this allows the cold start heaters time to work(about 20 secs).sounds a pain but the number of times this has been all it is,when you put key in ignition, the fuel pump charges the system.hence the squirt noise, also the car has to reccognise the key(immobiliser system)also try using wynns/redexe to clean injectors...

2006 passat will not start, clicking sound when starting

Check the connections at the battery and make sure they are clean and tight, if it still doesn't start, have the battery charged. After you get it going, it would be a good idea to have the battery and alternator checked, to see if the alternator is charging and the battery doesn't have a weak or dead cell in it.

2005 VW passat 1.9 TDi "immobiliser activated" on display

There may not be any other way to fix it except to replace your instrument panel. That's where your immobilizer is located. Or you could try this:

Try cold-booting the car. Remove both battery cables from the battery. Short the battery cables together (away from the battery) for about 15 seconds. Reconnect the battery. No guarantees - I found this info at tdiclub.com.
