Power window in my rear driver side window went outn(Saturn Ion 2004). The window stays down. Anything i can do to avoid taking it to a dealer?

Rear Passenger Power Window Operation
The rear passenger power window switches receive battery voltage through the window lockout control circuit if the window lockout function is disabled. Ground for the rear passenger power window motors is supplied through normally closed up and down contacts of both the rear passenger power window switches and the driver power window switch. When the either rear passenger power window switch is placed in the down position, the power window motor down control circuit is switched to 12 volts and is applied to the down side of the rear passenger power window motor. Since the other side of the rear passenger power motor is connected to ground through the normally closed up contacts of both the rear passenger and driver power window switches, the window travels down. By placing the rear passenger power window switch in the up position, the polarity of the power window motor is reversed and the window travels up.
The rear passenger power windows can also be controlled from the driver power window switch.

Did you try pushing the lock out switch on the drivers master switch ?

Possible causes are the switch, motor, ground circuit and power source.
A mechanic would take the switch out and check for power and ground to the motor.

the regulator is shot, 10 years about all they are good for. get yourself a new regulator, look on eBay, and do NOT get a used one. take the regulator and your car to a glass shop which does auto glass. pay them 50 bucks to put it in.

I would take it to your local Saturn or GM dealer, most componets like seatbelts are covered under the Factory Warranty still. There is really no other way to fix it as the internal retractor is jammed and those parts are Non-Servicable and the entire Seat Belt Assembly will need to be replaced.

Usually when the turnsignal blinks rapid this is a indicator that the turn signal bulbs is blown, you will need to check both the front and rear signal to see which is not working, and then change the blown bulb or bulbs.

The fuse box in the 06 ion is under the floor covering on the drivers side seat. Just move the seat all the way to the rear and then starting in the front near the pedals pull up the floor covering which is attached by velcro.

it could be the switch,it could be the power window regulator,it could be the wiring in the door where the door meets the body,sometimes the wires in there break and cause this issue,,,go to the dealer to get parts,

Under the hood... Check on the drivers side rear of the engine compartment, it should be located under a cover, above the battery.

dont know, but im having the same problem. my pass. side front wont work, and the driver rear wont work. its a 2005 ion 2 i suspect its the motors in both of them. i will let you know in a day or two, as soon as i check the parts yard to get a couple.

check the wires going from the driver door into the kick panel there should be a rubber thing around the wires and cut it off and the wires usualy break and loose connection
