the dimmer switch is in the multifunction switch, mounted in the column under the steering wheel. you need a special set of tools to get the wheel off, and to deal with the airbag in the steering wheel. get a repair manual, it most likely is going to cost what the car is worth to buy and replace the switch.
you must remove the steering wheel, air bag and the clock spring and the the whole switch,no easy, way DO NOT DO if you do not know how,you could set the air bag off or mess up the clock spring position and wreck it,,,take it to a shop,if you are not familiar with this kinda repair
replacing the front wiper motor on the early L series is not difficult. search around in fixya and you will find my instructions somewhere at least twice. do not buy a replacement wiper motor from saturn, they are much cheaper through advance or autozone.
before you begin the repair, make sure your wiper switch is off and note the wipers off position of the crank arm as stamped onto the wiper mount. this will make sense after you have the assembly out of the car and are replacing the wiper motor. if you ignore that mark then the wipers will be in the wrong position all the time.
Disconnect and Isolate Negative Barrety cable. Remove screw in bottom of steering column shroud cover. ( bottom side of steering column between wiper switch and turn signal switch) Unsnap shroud halves and remove from column. Disconnect wireing harness connector from multi function switch. Remove 2 screws securing switch to mounting housing. Install in reverse order.
Engine vibration is the cause of this issue, it is the biggest complaint from many owners, changing the engine mounts will help, as mounts age the rubber gets hard and they don't absorb vibration like they should, new mounts help issue, but it will no stop it altogether. A faulty MAF will not cause vibration, just a hesitation on acceleration at times
