If it's disc brakes you had replaced there may be a high point on the brake disc that comes in contact with the "new pad" and not usually a problem and should dissappear fairly soon, If it's a break shoe replacement(on rear) it need to be checked immediately !
Golden rule ,, if your not happy bring it back to the repair shop immediately for confirmation and do not drive any long distance un-necessarily . Noise is not good from breaks ! Caution !
You can jack up each wheel and check freedom of rotation , Caution

Breaks wont come on in lincoln

Take it back to the mechanic and tell them to check for a loose connection. They probably left the ABS or some other sensor unplugged.

Average cost for replacing rear brakes on 2000 Bravada

labor rates and pricing vary greatly town to town state to state. You best option would be to call around your local area to see what the going rate is for a standard rear brake service and a couple of rotors.

Typically the rear caliper slides freeze and the calipers need to be replaced.

You can expect from $200 to $800 dollars depending on what you actually need.

99 Ford Contour SE is making a grinding noise from the rear passengerside whealwell, as well as a lack of pressure at the brake peddal. Any Ideas would be appreciated.

Check the brake hose going the caliper or drum on that wheel, its probably leaking. That would explain the lack of pressure. Dont know whether your car has disc or drum brakes on the rear, could be either.
But if the hose is leaking, fluid will be all over the inner part of the wheel. And check your brake fluid to see if its low.

Or one of the springs in the drum could have broken or popped off.
That would explain the grinding noise. A broken spring is more likely since
you hear the grinding noise because the brake shoe would always be touching the drum
because the spring keeps the shoe from contacting the drum when the brakes are not being
pushed.

Pulling up to a stop light the brakes start to grab really bad. Just before stopping they seem to lock up. Have to give the van extra gas to get the van moving again. The right brake seems to be the...

You're lacking some info about this issue. Who replaced the brake pads? It sounds like they may have been incorrectly installed. Another thing... You say "brake pads" but say nothing about the brake shoes. This leads me to believe that the front pads were changed and the rear brake shoes were not. If you do not know how to change them yourself, go to a reputable place to get them checked. Be specific about your problem and have them check the front rotors and brake pads and the rear brake shoes and the drums. It is quite possible that the rear drums need to be replaced or turned. Drums and rotors are fairly inexpensive so I would consider replacing them BOTH. With a little more info, I'm sure someone here could help more Good luck!

Rear brake grinding noise when pressing on brakes

The grinding noise in the rear brake drum means that brake shoes are warn out and the metal part of the shoe is touching the drum. You need to replace it asap as it will damage the inner part of the drum and than replacing shoes will not help without skimming or replacing the drum.
