L/B = Lean burn

Lean burn refers to the use of lean mixtures in an internal combustion engine. The air-fuel ratios can be as high as 65:1, so the mixture has considerably less fuel in comparison to the stoichiometric combustion ratio (14.64:1 for petrol for example).

Principle :-

A lean burn mode is a way to reduce throttling losses. An engine in a typical vehicle is sized for providing the power desired for acceleration, but must operate well below that point in normal steady-speed operation. Ordinarily, the power is cut by partially closing a throttle. However, the extra work done in pumping air through the throttle reduces efficiency. If the fuel/air ratio is reduced, then lower power can be achieved with the throttle closer to fully open, and the efficiency during normal driving (below the maximum torque capability of the engine) can be higher.

The engines designed for lean burning can employ higher compression ratios and thus provide better performance, efficient fuel use and low exhaust hydrocarbon emissions than those found in conventional petrol engines. Ultra lean mixtures with very high air-fuel ratios can only be achieved by direct injection engines.

The main drawback of lean burning is that a complex catalytic converter system is required to reduce NOx emissions. Lean burn engines do not work well with modern 3-way catalytic converter-which require a pollutant balance at the exhaust port so they can carry out oxidation and reduction reactions-so most modern engines run at or near the stoichiometric point. Alternatively, ultra-lean ratios can reduce NOx emissions[citation needed].

Hyundai Avante (Elantra) green

a small rubber vacuum pipe connecting to the injector system / inlet manifold. Sometimes this pipe perishes and allows air to enter thus decreasing the vacuum. The engine then cuts out. It's simple to check and replace the tubing where necessary. You may also notice the engine cutting out when traveling at speed and one suddenly slows down.

After replacing the O2 sensor , i did reset for the ECU,... but after that L/B light comes on and the car become intermittent and poor response to the fuel press,. the car is Hyundai Elentra ( avante )...

Ok, The O2 sensor only comes into play on the open road in what is known as "closed Loop" It has no bearing on ordinary about town motoring. Neither the sensor replacement or the re-set should cause your problems. I thnk I would do another reset, remove the negative terminal from the battery, wait a couple of minutes and replace it. This procedure will do a complete & full re-set of all parameters. As long as there are no other sensors acting up, all should be well.

L/B illuminatted after replaceing the O2 Sensor

Oxygen sensors are comonly blamed when not the cause. Is the code lean or rich mix .What you may have is a fuuel or ignition problem. When was the fuelfilter changed or does it need a tune up?Did you get bad fuel? These things all need to be considered.

Battery indecator light on on dash

Check to make sure that there's power from the alternator to the battery on the charge-back wire. If nothing's there, then your alternator is junk and you'll have to replace it again.
