I have not heard of any new features as that in an automobile. In small engines like lawn mowers and generators this is acommon fact in most. It would be a nice feature tohave in an auto though. Just incase the panel warning light doe not come on to warn you and or rather or not you have an oil pressure gauge installed in your instrument panel. You shouldalwayscheck youroil when you go to fill up at the gas station. But if they have installed this feature and your car quits what areyou going to do?? Check the oil of course would be the first step. It is wise to always carry an extra quart of oil with you rather you car/truck has this feature or not. If you knopw thesound of your engine and it starts tapping or clicking louder then check your oil. The sound may be thelifters getting dry and that is a warning sound to let you know before you freeze/burn up the motor.
