2004 Accord with nav, radio code

Does anyone know of a way to retrieve the radio serial number from a 2004 Honda Accord with factory navigation system installed, without removing the radio. The anti theft card that came with the car when we bought it, (new) only has the nav ser. # and code. Also checked in the glovebox and all around it and no serial #. Seems as though there should be a way to retrieve it without tearing things apart. Any help would be appreciated. Dealer was no help. Thanks. N.L.

Quotes:
Your vehicle's audio system may disable itself if it is disconnected from electrical power for

any reason.
To make it work again, you must enter a specific five-digit code with the preset buttons.
Because there are hundreds of number combinations possible from the five
digits, making the system work without knowing the exact code is nearly impossible.

You should have received a radio code card that lists your audio system's code and serial

numbers. {glove box find}
It is best to store this card in a safe place at home. In addition, you should write the audio

system's serial number in this owner's manual.

If you lose the card, you must obtain the code number from your dealer.
To do this, you will need the audio system's serial number.

If your vehicle's battery is disconnected or goes dead, or the radio
fuse is removed, the audio system will disable itself. If this happens,
you will see ''ENTER CODE'' in the frequency display (on the screen on models with navigation

system) the next time you turn on the system.
Use the preset buttons to enter the five-digit code. The code is on the radio code card included

in your owner's manual kit.
When it is entered correctly, the radio will start playing.

If you make a mistake entering the code, do not start over; complete the
five-digit sequence, then enter the correct code. You have 10 tries to enter the correct code.
If you are unsuccessful in 10 attempts, you
must then leave the system on for 1 hour before trying again.

The system will retain your AM and FM presets even if power is disconnected. {only on newer cars'

I cant find my car radio code in my car because its removed

You will need to get the serial number of the Radio to a dealer to help retrieve your code.

Depending if your car has a navigation system or not, the retrieval step differs.

However, you can get some tips on how to retrieve your Radio's serial number on this link:

Good luck

2004 Honda Accord touch screen will not accept code numbers

DOES SYSTEM INTAKE CODE YOU TYPE AND RETURN WITH ERROR MESSAGE OR JUST PLAIN HAS LOCKED SCREEN? SYSTEM IS DESIGNED SO THAT IF INCORRECT CODE IS INPUT MORE THAN THREE TIMES SYTEM LOCKS ITSELF.WHICH REQUIRES THAN THE NAVI UNIT BE UNPLUGGED FROM BATTERY POWER FOR ABOUT 5-10 MINS TO RESET ITSELF.NOW INCORRECT CODE CAN BE DUE TO WRONG CODE/SERIAL # CARD FOR VEHICLE, UNIT HAS BEEN REPLACED IN PAST POSSIBLY AND YOU ARE INPUTING CODE FROM OLD UNIT UNKNOWINGLY. YOU ALSO WANT TO MAKE SURE CODE YOU ARE TRYING TO INPUT IS FOR NAVI-SYSTEM AND NOT THE RADIO CODE FOR THE STEREO. IF ALL ABOVE CHECKS OK THEN NEXT STEP WOULD BE TO REMOVE UNIT TO RETRIEVE SERIAL NUMBER FROM BACK OF NAVI UNIT THEN GO TO NEAREST DEALARSHIP WHO CAN THAN RUN S/N THROUGH HONDA IN SYSTEM AND RETRIEVE CORRECT CODE FOR THAN SERIAL NUMBER. LET ME KNOW HOW IT GO'S

Hey that is suppose to be a free service, Make sure it is not in your glove box somewhere first. Then call a different dealership and ask to speak to the parts manager. I'd let them know that you expect them to help. If you do not get satisfaction go over his head.
