code p 0106 refers to manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor/barometric pressure(BARO) sensor --range / performance problem=== causes ---intake / exhaust leak---wiring---MAP sensor ---BARO sensor
not shifting out of over drive could be a problem servo/ solenoid , dirty oil , wiring or VSS sensor
have that complaint properly diagnosed by a competent auto transmission specialist shop
You shouldn't be replacing any parts
until you understand the systems & do
the testing needed to find a problem
The only parts that get installed are ones that fail a test
& are found to be the system fault causing the problems
Your work the codes one at a time & resolve them as you go
Transmissions have 4,5 or 6 speeds,as well as converter
lock-up in most speeds, there is no passing gear per/say
Codes do not indicate a need for parts or tell you anything is wrong
Codes are input computer sensors that report how the mechanicals
are doing, they can fail but they can also set codes & are not related
to anything.
You could have a sensor issue effecting shift strategy & you could
also have a failed transaxle, if it is original, over ten years old or
the fluid hasn't been changed every 3 years since new
The problem is a gear internal failure the gear who drive the speed sensor is defect the is why you don't have speed sensor reading. There is a way you can verify that remove the speed sensor drive it with a drill check the dashboard you will see.
The problem is the speedometer is not working and the computer cant tell ****** when to shift as it doesnt know the speed, have the speed sensor on the ****** checked. the speed sensor is the problem in most of these cases and is not hard to replace and i think that will solve your problem. also the check engine light should of come on also, if it did you can have the computer scanned to see if you have a speed sensor code, if you do then that will tell you its the speed sensor, this sensor is also called out shaft speed sensor. heres a picture to help you locate the speed sensor on the ******. good day hope this helps.
P01864 means battery disconnected within last 50 starts. If this occurred occasionally, or just after disconnecting the battery, then the code is not pointing at any fault. Just telling you that the battery has been disconnected. The code will be erased after cranking 50 times.
If the problem comes back times and times again even if you have not disconnected battery in last 50 starts check crank sensor and battery wiring.
Check also oil pump sensor, cam and MAP sensor. If car starts in second gear I will also have a loot to connectors at PCM and TCM and to wiring to throttle position sensor and vehicle speed sensor.
Usually the code is displayed if the battery has been disconnected withing the last 50 starts. In that case there is no fault and the problem with second gear is not related. About the car starting in wrong gear test the solenoids in the valve body, the TPS, the wiring to TCM and the VSS. Here some troubleshooting about similar shifting problems.
It is in limp mode. Have the transmission computer scanned for codes. It likely has a bad speed sensor. If it has a code in the trans computer, the computer will lock the transmission is second gear.
ur computer probably wont show anything ur tranny problem can be anything fron needing a filter changed to vacuum problem to torque converter check the fluid for level if low fill up- before filling look and smell fluid it should be reddish in color not brownish [fluid burnt]if it smells burnt- need trans service can be just a filter and flush ,bad sensor-actuator or rebuild
Many transmission shops have a "flight recorder" that they can attach to the system and drive the vehicle. If that has not been done perhaps it will help. Odds of getting another transmission with the exact problem as the original are pretty slim, so I'd tend to think its on the control side. Have you checked the MAP sensor? often the shift module gets its info from there too.
