Press and hold the "Trip/Odo" button. Turn the ignition switch on and hold the "Trip/Odo" switch for about two seconds. Replacing a battery won't cause this unless you happen to hook it up wrong. In that case, check fuses, All of them. If they are all good, start replacing all those parts to include some computers.
IS this a one time issue? IF so when the battery dies and is jump started, the voltages can be spiked or sag and this causes issues with the electronics in the boards. When you pull the fuse and put it back you are resetting it and not letting drop or sag or spikes happen. If the issue keeps happening then you need to look at for issues with bad connections on the boards or the BCM
there is a fuse for the gauges, if you have an owners manual it will tell you exactly where it is, if not there is a fuse panel inside, either under the dash on drivers side, by the driver side kick panel, or on the side of the dash that faces the door.. and there is also a fuse/relay panel under the hood.
hope this helps.
