1994 Chevi Lumina APV (van)

I have 1994 Chevi Lumina APV (van) and I notice engine does not start because of battery, I thought alternator didn't charge battery, I replaced alternator, I start engine with jump cable after engine start I remove cable and engine dead, I done this several time also I keep the jump cable over 15 minutes, still as soon as I remove the cable engine died. Now looks like alternator has a problem but so far I changed alternator 2 time.
I appreciate if you can help me.
Thanks

If you havent replaced the battery I would start there. If the battery has a dead cell in it then it will effectively remove the charge that your alternator is putting out causing your vehicle to stop running because it has no power. I would jump start the car without the battery hook up and remove the cables and see if it runs that way. If it does you have a bad battery.

I see, that would be an indication that your alternator is not putting out the proper voltage and I believe you stated that you have already replaced this component. I would look at the voltage regulator then, if it is bad then your alternator can charge the car all day long, but if the voltage regulator is blocking the proper voltage it will not matter. This is the only other component I can think of in this system that would do that.

I have read some of the comments and agree that your battery must be replaced as that is the only source of electrical power to the system. even after your car has been started if your battery is not charged to the proper voltage the engine will stall.
that being said test the battery for proper voltage when idle.if you do not have 12 volts or more, the on board computer shuts down the car.once you install a new b attery and test to make sure your alternator is charging there should be no other problems

No power from alternator?

You went wrong in the way of changing out one alternator for a bigger amperage one . It could have done ireparable damage . Do you have a manual for it ,,.It could be a blade fuse burned out they are like a flat piece of metal held in wth 2 nuts and washers .Check all your fuses in the fuse box first .
