99 passat petrol 1.6 arm engine cutting out and starts again

auto = automobile or automatic transmission>?
no country told , not in USA for and parts and book match country + car. no engine told. and cuts out it does.
WHY NOT SCAN IT FIRST.
it is misfiring (irregular) RPM not steady and stalls, (cuts out)
if if stalls does start up again easy, or not, or must it cool down first.?
SEE DTC ERRORS, I BET. IF SCANNED AS IT STALLS.
Q1: can the stall be averted with a fast right foot????????
or LPG?

Have you checked the fuel filters for restrictions ?

Don't shoot me. But this is an old problem. The old polos did the same. I used to drive. Then It would just cut out. Leave it standing for around 20minutes. Start it again. And it runs like there were never a problem. Solution.fuel pump relay. Out of my own experience

Engine misfire code probaly have a coil or plug wire going bad

be checking emissions controls for vacuum leaks especially with the brakes..

Maybe the wires are grounding check for wires chaffing

o2 sensor

you have probably got a blockage in either the fuel filter or carb,so first check filter,if ok check carb.take fuel line of carb turn engine over see if fuel comes out if it does then filter ok if not change filter,

cheapest thing to try is the temp. sensor about E20 its under the distrubitor 4 wires in one plug then a clip to take out the sensor, if that dont work try to get a lend of a throttle body and change it to see if that works before buying one as they are dear. hope thats some help

There may be no check engine light but that doesn't mean there isn't a code in the ECU. Especially with a misfire. I'd have the codes scanned and see what you got. The cannister issue isn't going to give you a misfire it will give you stalling and rough idle.
Lets see what ECU is saying. You can go to Autozone if you don't have a scanner they will scan it for free. If scanning turns out negative than have a cylinder leakage test done. This way we can determine which cylinder has the problem and what the problem is.
