Fuel Filter and Fuel pump, where are they located on a 1989Chevy Silverado 1500

Have you checked the fuel pump relay? usually located near the fuse box.
All power leads installed correctly after pump replaced?

This sounds llike weak feul pressure, the fuelpump may need replacing, the first thing to do is have the fuel pressure tested and if the pressure is low then have the pump replaced. the pump is located inside the fuel tank and the tank will need to be dropped to replace the pump, good luck ,

The fuel filter is located in the back left, top, of the engine. It is just in front of the second battery( if you have one). I have replaced it several times. Once you have managed to loosen it, you have to pull it out through the wheel well. It costs about $50.AnswerOr if its not there it might be in the tank as part of the fuel pump,
GM wants to make all the bucks!!!

Check for a dirty fuel filter, or it's a fuel pump relay/pump. If it has never had a fuel pump changed on it, it will say AC DELCO on the filter. The fuel filter is located under drivers side door along the frame. Fairly easy to change, and if this doesn't fix the problem, then it is the fuel pump relay/fuel pump. *Hint... it is easier to remove the bed of the truck than to drop the tank out. From experience it is much faster and easier to access.

should be up under the left rear colose to the pump look there

before you drop tank again, check fuses & relay.then disconnect fuel line @ filter turn key to on position should hear fuel pump run and get gas stream out of line. if no flow from line new pump faulty be sure & remove negative battery cable first good luck.

Should be on the passenger side kickplate below the glovebox and to the right. You may have to remove the plastic panel to access it or look for a small hole in it and feel around for the button

replace fuel pump /fuel filter/screen/keep enough gas in tank at least 1/2 tank of gas at all times and change gas filter at 10,000 miles

The Fuel filter should be along the frame on drivers side under cab towards back on extened cab it's silver about 4 to 5".
