when the injector heats up this is when a problem can happen, the injectors are like copper when hot it expands and contracts cold, with heat and cold eventually they can break inside.
If the check engine light is on you can have a diagnostic ran on your car, and find out exactly what is wrong with it. That will take the guess work out of repairing it. You can have this done at any auto parts store for free.
This could be due to a malfunctioing coolant sensor. It is located near the thermostat housing. It may be stuck in cold operation mode. You are probably getting bad gas mileage too. Make sure air filter is clean too. Good luck!
