SAAB 900 Turbo 1984 AC dial turns easily without resistance after tender attentions of local SAAB mechanic. Problem happenned once before about 20 years ago and my memory was that there was some kind of ball and socket arrangement under the dashboard accessed through the radio speakers that just fairly easily needs to be clipped back into place. Can anyone tell me if I am on the right track here??

u cud buy a haynes manual at a part store or go to ur library sec629 for chilton/mitchell books---------problyneed a new switch but try anothr key 1st

learn the hard way ,,, it will need the attention of a mechanic to change all the parts burnt when it backfired and caught alight ,or just write it off and call the scrapyard

IT COULD BE A SIMPLE THING AS A FUSE OR A RELAY, OR IT COULD BE THE FREON IS TOO LOW FOR THE AC CLUTCH TO KICK IN

You are going to need a blower motor resister and a turn signal flasher,shound't be too expensive,and you should be able to do it yourself.

i would remove the coolant sensors and clean then to obtain the correct reading.

should be .9 to 1 in the saabs. thats what the manual says

I had this same problem and I fixed it by opening up the door panel and accessing the door handle mechanism by removing the membrane that covers up the access holes. After watching the mechanism work by manually lifting and lowering the lock as well as actuating the door handle, I noticed that the door handle mechanism was causing the lock to bind as a return spring was not letting the mechanism return to neutural after the door handle was actuated. This blocked the mechanism from unlocking even with the key. Believe it or not all that was required was a little wd - 40 on the mechanism and the problem disappeared. The lock once again worked both with the key and with the remote. 15 minutes to take off the door panel 25 minutes to diagnose, 20 minutes to think about what might be causing the spring not to work correctly and less than a minute to remedy. I hope that I can save you the 45 minutes. Good Luck

The part number for the trans mount is the same for the 2, 2.3 and 2.5 liter engines. It is 4356184. It is $51.00 for the aftermarket Febi/Bilstein and $125.52 for the OEM Saab part. Have you put the correct caliper on each side?
Are bleed screws facing upward?
If so you will probably need to have brakes pressure bled to push through air in ABS system.
