Why does my 3.2 cl acura not want to start up when the motor is hot. Service engine light is on and I have new spark plugs. It also runs pretty smooth still.

97 acura 2.2 cl engine light p0302 code

A P0302 is indicating that cylinder # 2 is misfiring...Cylinder # 2 is the second plug counting from the front to rear of engine...Main causes for misfire are: defective spark plug, spark plug wire...When was last time plugs were changed? if it has been awhile I would suggest changing them...Also the spark plug wires should be replaced...Changing one plug and/or one wire isn't a good idea; change them all...Plugs cost two or three dollars apiece and a set of wires around $15...Standard motor products wire set # 4717...Spark plugs; Bosch platinum gaped at .044

have u checked ur timing chain/belt? or even the crankshaft sensor? The crank sensor (if bad or broke) will cut out the spark to ur plugs. hope this helps

My check engine light came on and the motor seems to be shaking? I drive about 30min to work and about 30min home, so I'm not sure if I will have time to take it in before I go to work? What seems to...

It is most likely a misfire, especially if the engine light starts flashing. Most misfires are due to the secondary ignition system wearing out (spark plugs and wires). I would replace the spark plug wires first as they are the more common cause, but it's a good idea to replace the plugs too.
**Note - if the engine light is flashing, it indicates catalyst damage at that time. Driving a vehicle for prolonged periods with the engine misfiring will result in catalytic converter damage.

2001 Acura CL Type S: Where is the fuel pump relay located?

I have a 2001 acura cl type-s,..... i had a previous exhaust leak and it was pretty bad..... my car started sputtering and i assume it was cuz of the fuel not mixing properly with the air.... so i got it fixed..... but it still does it..... do u think it made be the O2 sensor?? or the fuel filter that needs to be change????.... other than that, i can only think of the fuel injectors or spark plugs????.... thanks

Is it a two stroke machine , do you mix your own fuel.

If so over dosing on the oil component will cause your problem, check for the right mix levels and follow them.

Is the choke going full back to zero ?

Are you running the right type pf plug for that engine, some run hot some dont

Is the engine running smooth or lumpy.

For a four stroke engine

Your engine may either be running very rich or there is wear on the bores causing oil to get to the electrode.

You can obtain a spark plug extender which takes the plug out of the direct line of fire

The Transmission is likely shot. That year along with others had transmission defects. My new 2002 TLs died at 21k miles. I go to Acura for most all service and they gave me a $1500 discount on a tranny. It still cost me $3500.

replace the O2 sensors . Some cars have 2. At the intake and out take manifolds. they are spark plug shaped components.

Have it scanned but u may have a bad pcm-fuel pump relay or bad distribuitor

You may have the same problem i had. its a pgm sensor of some sort, but if you put a shade over your windshield on really hot days and when you get in open all windows and let the interior cool. it should start if it was my prob. it just happened again today and i did this and it worked after 5 minutes. also i covered the sensor in the center of my dashboard towards the windshield. give it a try and maybe save lots of cash! might be a efi main relay, but don't remember.try this site...http://repairpal.com/car-engine-works-car-wont-go-every-time-842
