One Side of the Turn Signal Lights Doesn't Work. ... You may be dealing with bad bulbs, a bad flasher relay, a faulty turn signal switch, or a bad wire or connector between the flasher unit and the turn signal switch.
I hear what you are saying however....whenever there is a bulb that is not good....you will get rapid flashing on the dash. Replacing the bulb is cheap...do it as a test if nothing else.
sounds like one of light bulbs was malfunctioning and caused the flasher unit to blink rapidly and iy burned out. Replace front and rear turn lite bulbs and see if flasher flashes. if not check fuse and replace fuse. If fuse okay replace flasher unit. Good luck
Easy way to find the location of the flasher unit: Turn on either the RIGHT or LEFT indicator, and listen for the click under the dash. When you find the source of the click, THERE'S THE FLASHER UNIT! :)
Good job, and good joe to you for solvin it! Now you'll remember that's a common indicator of a burnt out bulb. For some reason I can't explain, that is how a bad bulb acts on the flasher unit - by more rapid clicking (breaking contact inside the flasher relay at a quicker rate). It seems both the front and rear signal lights have to be working for the normal flasher rate ...well good.
.. Hi there. This is a typical earth problem. Some of the lights use the same earth and when some of the earth points are not good, the power go through the other lights. That is why some lights go's faster, it's all about resistants. Check all the earth points in the light holders and under the dash and also between the battery, engine and body. Good luck.
its not the fuse, its either the front or rear lamp is out on that side left or right, or if pulling a trailer you need a heavy-duty flasher unit because this makes the same kind of fast flash problem due to more lamps operated at the same time
