You can try to reset the ecu, just switch the ignition into off position, disconnect the sensor cable at the fuel filter housing, turn the key into on position, but dont start your car, connect back the cable, the warning should goes off after fews second.

Hey Qmp, Great, I followed your advice last week after first tapping the pump I did not see any water, and it happens as you say. They do not know this in every garage, maybe start security gave them problems

I do have a D4D 2kd 2006 Hilux Vigo and I just installed serviced injectors and couldn't start.

a D4D diesel engine in a TOYOTA HILUX
well all filters good (air and fuel)
all diesel fuel lines purged of air and at spec pressure
good fuel pumps.
glow plugs not dead,(all)
get the service manual and it covers injector changes steps.
fuse good? to pumps. (lift pumps etc) many pumps can not pump air so must be primed.

My Toyota diesel engine type 2kd ( Hilux 2006 pick-up WD)has a problem on fuel system, sometimes engine check lamp become on, engine RPM goes down , when switch off the engine and re-started back the

Please write back with a lot more information, the more i know from you, the faster we can get this fixed. Please explain what you have done or not done recently. I don't know if a oil change was done or the fuel filter, or that these symptoms just occurred out of the blue. My first guess is that your "Fuel Light" came on because a restriction was noticed at your fuel filter. It may just mean that you need to service the fuel system (replace the fuel filter). Please write back and I will do my best to help you resolve this problem. If you still have the owners manual, take a look inside. It contains a lot of valuable information pertaining to warning lights, maintenance intervals, and so on. Let me know how you are doing, good luck.

Toyota hilux d4d 3.0 litre fuel system light reset ?

Remove the key from the ignition but keep it handy. Important: Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for longer than 90 seconds to prevent the risk of having the airbags deploy! Replace the diesel filter (Follow the instructions that can be found in Toyota service manuals (search www). Remove the diesel filter sensor cable (the one on top of the filter assembly). Make sure the new O-rings seat properly. Close the filter assembly by turning the locking ring until it clicks. Bleed the filter assembly by pushing the little plunger thing on the top of the assembly until pumping becomes difficult. Connect the negative back onto the battery. Insert the key in the lock and turn until the dashboard warning lamps come on, but do not start the car yet. Within 3 to 60 seconds of doing this re-connect the diesel flter sensor cable. The light should be extinguished. Obviously there could be another problem causing the light to remain on (not flashing - steady on). If the light is flashing, then you have water in the system and should follow the answer supplied elsewhere by someone else to drain the water. Now start the car and enjoy clean diesel fuel driving. You should really not wait for the light to come on steady before chnaging the filter. Some fanatics believe every 10,000km is the longest you should wait, but this depends on fuel quality, low or high sulfur content, etc. Rather do it more frequently than having to buy new injectors.

Toyota Hilux d4d 2kd-ftv engine, does not rev above 3000 r.p.m

Jambo Jambo. This problem, unfortunately is going to be in the fuel injector pump itself. If the veins are wearing it will begin to fail at high RPMs when the fuel demand is high. You are on the right track though. It is fuel. Replace the injector pump and time accordingly. Feel free to contact me if you need anything else.
