When you open the hood on the front side, there shoul be little "levels" with a bolt or Screw setup. Are they level? If not, tighten or loosen until the indicator levels say they are. You can adjust the angle of shine this way. Try to stick with the Levels though. They help keep the light out of the driver's eyes in front of you.

Headlights and backlights on my 1998 Toyota Camry stopped working

The headlight switch is most likely the culprit. It operates a relay that actually turns on the headlights Look in the fuse box for a burned out fuse. If it is not burned then suspect the switch

How do I adjust the headlights on my 1990 Toyota Camry?

The aiming of headlights is strictly governed by the country or state you reside in and is covered by the road ordinance in force there. Take your vehicle to an authorised center that can adjust your headlights and supply you with proof that the work has been carried out according to the requisite regulations. You will save yourself a lot of bother and prevent possible legal problems.

How do you adjust the headlights

After you disassemble the head light housing there should be a threaded adjustment screws that will allow you to tilt the headlights up or down. Technically your suppose to go to a shop that has the machine to "dial" it in properly but it can be done on your own. Just pull the car 10 feet away from a wall and turn the headlights on and make sure you can see them on the wall clearly (may have to do it at night). Make a mark on the wall to the height you would like to adjust them and zero them in using the adjustment screws. Hope this helps!

Camry head light adj

Adjustment are located on the sides of the headlight assembly. One adjusts up and down (side) and one adjusts side to side (back) park about 20 feet away from a wall and adjust to center Your beams should be about 6"-8" lower than the headlights and about 6" inside the diameter of the lights

Where do I buy headlight adjuster screws for my camry 1996?

I would recommend finding your local scrap metal/car dealer and seeing if he has a wrecked Camry. Doesn't have to be the same year but the same model would help. You can go and pull them off the old car and they shouldn't cost you very much at all.

Headlight adjustment instructions

The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly, behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator support.

You will have vertical adjustment screws for each independent beam (separate highs and separate lows, but will be same screw if highs and lows are the same bulb). You may also have additional horizontal adjustment screws as well

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

For Low Beams: If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

For High Beams: Aim the headlight directly at the line you marked on the wall.
