the lights are just indicating a problem , the coil light is electrical prob the engine is to tell you to take to a garage.Get the OBD checked by a suitable mechanic as probly a sensor fault, save you time and money if you do this first
The water pump is located inside the engine on the left side. To replace it you must remove the fan belt, alternator, power steering pump and AC compressor if you have A/C. remove the front cover. If you have to replace the water pump also replace the timing belt and the oil pump.
REPLACE WATER ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS DRAIN THE COOLANT SYSTEM.REMOVE THE ENGINE COOLING FAN AND CLUTCH THEN THE FAN SHROUD.REMOVE ENGINE COVER IF EQUIPPED.THEN REMOVE THE ACCESSORY DRIVE BELT.UNBOLT THE POWER STEERING PUMP MOVE IT ASIDE DONT DISCONNECT ANY POWER STEERING PUMP HOSES.DISCONNECT WATER PUMP HOSES, REMOVE BELT PULLEY THEN REMOVE WATER PUMP MOUNTING BOLTS AND WATER PUMP.CLEAN WATER PUMP MATING SURFACE BE CAREFUL DONT SCRATCH PUMP SURFACE. BESURE WHEN YOU INSTALL NEW WATER PUMP USE GASKET SEALANT ON BOTH SIDE OF GASKET TO KEEP IT FROM LEAKING COOLANT.
Transverse engines do not have fan belts as such. Fans are electrically driven and are located benind the radiator. What belts there are are the altenator belt and the water pump belt, or these may be combines on different models. Other belts include a power steering pump belt, and an air conditioning belt. These belts all run off the main crankshaft pulley which is located on the right hand side of the engine (viewed from the driver's seat).
you will probably find that the pump impeller has disconnected it's self from the shaft in side the water pump, they are sometimes made of plastic, probably have to dig deep and check the pump as probably its driven of the cam belt, not that bad a job, may as well change the cam belt at the same time ,,,,
The water pump is on the front driver's side of the engine. It is spun by a small belt driven from the end of the cam shaft. You will see a cover up and to the right of the oil dipstick. That covers the pulley. Follow the belt and you will find the water pump. It requires a special tool to replace.
timing belt is usualy to the left side of the engine, covered with a plastic cover,it ataches to the cams, dinamo etc, fuwl pump can be just before the filter or in rare ocasions in the fuel tank, water pump is connected to the fan belt shoud be just in front of the engine on top behind the radiator
this is an easy job to do ,awkard yes ,fiddly yes but reletivly easy .the mounting is bolted to the cylinder head ,so jack vehicle up ,block it then put jack under engine with a wooded block on the sump support engine and then remove the mount .the plastic covers under the car and in the wheel arch are a pain ,front wheel off as well .NOW DONT FORGET TO USE WHITE PAINT AND IF YOU CANT FIND THE TIMING MARKS MAKE YOUR OWN .crank timing mark is on flywheel ,,hole through the engine side of the bell housing for a special tool ,or a long 8mm bolt ,if memory serves me well the cam has a 8 mm hole and locating hole on head ,common rail pump so it doesnt matter where that pulley goes .this model is a fiddly job but shouldnt take more than 2 hours including tea break
