Question about 2005 Mercury Mariner

1 Answer

08 Used Mariner loud at higher speeds.

I bought an 08 Mariner. It is kind of loud (sounds like the tires) but if I go 55 or over it gets very loud. Is this normal?

2008 Equinox has excessive road noise between 45 & 55 mph. Loud in general but really loud at speed.

Road noise is usually related to your tires. I would go to a tire shop and have them check it out. If your alignment and tire condition in general are good it might be the stiffness or aggressiveness of the tread.

REAR passenger tire makes loud clunking and grinding noises when turning more than 30-45 degrees above 5-15 mph

I don`t think you have cv axles in the rear of that.My guess would be wheel bearings could be grinding. Donut spares are strickly to be used for short periods of time and not to be driven at any higher rates of speed. Some damage may have occurred during the actual incident when you had the flat initially.Damage to the rear axle itself,

Micra K13 Loud Noise at Higher Speeds

I've just bought a K13 Nissan Micra and it doesn't sound quite right. The noise I hear also seems to be coming from the back but it sounds like when you chop down a gear in a manual going down a hill and the engine revvs, well this is the noise I get in the automatic speeding up and slowing down, even just cruising at a steady speed. Any ideas people? Apart from this noise I love this car.

When I go at about 40miles(speed ) it's a loud the gears don't stick but the higher the speed the louder it get's need to kind of know what to tell a mechanic is to where to start to look.I doesn't

I would suspect it is a wheel bearing issue, if it sounds similar to a baseball card in the spokes of a bicycle, stays somewhat same pitch just louder with speed that is where I would look. Does noise go away or change when making turns?

Tire noise on mercury mariner so so loud, is there a better tire than the continental contitrac 235x70?

Tires offer a number of trade-offs. Loud tires provide superior tread wear and a harsher ride, are loud. Soft tires provide a smooth ride, quiet operation and usually fewer miles.

Please go see your Goodyear or Firestone or Continental (or other major brand) tire professional and discuss your concerns with him or her to find the best tire for your application and driving style.

06 Mercury Mariner...ABS light comes on after awhile driving and then the 4WD light blinks only when the ABS light is on. I just had an oil change and tire rotation done a couple of days ago. This is the...

HAVE VECHICLE CODE SCAN.SOUND LIKE YOU COULD HAVE BAD WHEEL SENSOR OR DISCONNECTED OR LOOSE WIRE.BECAUSE 4WD DRIVE NEEDS SIGNALS FROM WHEEL SPEED SENSORS AND VECHICLE SPEED SENSOR BEFORE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND TRANSFER CASE CAN SHIFT CORRECTLY.

Body Sound..

What kind of noise? Humming? Screeching? Can you tell if it's coming from front? Left? Right? Does it get louder the faster it goes? Higher pitch?
