1999 lexus just had a new trans. put in and an hour later the car shut off and wouldnt stat again

If the vehicle is equipped with a timing belt, make sure it hasn't jumped throwing the valve timing off.

Could be crankshaft sensor.

Check for moisture at the PRNDL switch on the side of the trans.

Your car is 18 years old. It's likely history. Sell it as is for what you can get.

The light will go away on it's own if the problem is solved. The unhooking of the battery doesn't work after 1996. I would get it scanned again to see if you have the same issue, and go from there.

it mightbe your fuelpump,fisrt thing need to do checking the fuelpump is put your key to on(not start)
listen to the buzzing sound from the pump. if you dont hear nothing,then your fuel pump is gone

well its a ford product all I can say is get the trans rebuilt-its a common problem after 130kmsof running

loosen the battery cable.... start the car with a boost.... after it is running... unhook the battery.... if it dies... replace the alternator... if it keeps running... replace the battery.... make sure this is done outside and everyone working on the car is wearing safety glasses

ok when the check engine light comes on that usually indicates a engine malfunction...what you can do is go to your local autozone and they can do an OBDII test for free..my bet says it is the cam or crank sensor.. DO NOT SHUT THE CAR OFF AT AUTOZONE..LOL
