How do I open the dashboard hvac controller on my 2007 chevy tahoe. The panel controller had iced tea spilled into it and its now dark no power to it no switches work. Radio, parking pedal adjuster and...

Look at the bezel/trim around the controller. Most newer vehicles, the bezel just pops off(pry off with a flat screw driver, go around the bezel). Some have hidden screw. Look for small plastic plugs(pop them out), usually on the bottom of the bezels. Some bezels go around just the controller and radio. Some reach up around the instrument panel also. Look for screws there also. Once the bezel is off, you will see the screws to remove the controller.

How do I replace the ac/heater climate control unit on my 1996 GMC pick up truck 1500

Most of the bezel around the unit just pops off, there could be a couple hidden screws at the bottom of the bezel though. Once off, there are a couple screws to remove to get the unit out. Plus the plugs.

Removing the cover from the radio and heater console

The bezel surrounding the radio and heater/AC controls is held on with 6 tension clips. It also has tabs at the top that are held under the adjacent horizontal trim pieces.

Remove the horizontal trim pieces on each side of the radio bezel using a small plastic pry tool. They will pop off fairly easily. Then simply use the pry tool to work your way around the radio bezel and pop it off as well. This will expose the heater control that you need to replace.

The heater control panel in my 1999 Beetle requires replacement. Is this procedure straightforward and something I can do myself ?

Pretty much. The controls are covered by a bezel that pops off. this will give you access to the screws that hold it. remove the eletrical plugs and vacuum, if you have it and install in reverse order. You can do it!. Ps.. some times these bezels stretch all the way across the dash. If yours does there will be screws above the instrument cluster and on each side you have to remove. the rest of it is held by clips.

The light for the odometer is out. How do I fix it? All of the other dash lights are working just fine.

The dash cluster has to come out, to get to the bulbs. The battery has to be disconnected. dash bezel around the cluster will pop off, usually a small flat screwdriver will help pop off the bezel. be careful not break the bezel, very thin abs material. after removing bezel, there will be maybe 4-6 small screws holding the cluster in. remove these screws and the cluster will pull out, be careful her also as there are wire behind here and connected to the cluster. the bulb will easily come out with a slight turn.
