Oil pressure gauge does not reach 40 PSI. Heard the sounds like a loud ticking coming from the engine on the passengers side. Then pressed on the gas peddle and it didn't want to add power. Ticking n

Not sure if there is a question here or not. If the pressure is always below 40 and you are hearing engine noise, chances are the oil pressure really is low. You could replace the sending unit or use a mechanical gauge to verify.

2008 oil leak and engine ticking

An engine used oil for lubrication and colling. If there is no oil then there is no lubrication. No lubrication means lots of heat and friction. Is it a ticking or banging noise? I do believe it is an ohc engine so it couldnt be a lifter ticking. It is probably a rod knocking. It so then it will more than likely need an engine

I always wonder why some mechanics just cant say they dont know.I drive a 2001 century every day with 93,000 miles on it.It developed a ticking noise at 80,000 that i diagnosed as a lifter noise.I change my own oil and I put a quart of auto trans fluid in the engine oil and drove it for a week before i changed the oil and the noise went away and stayed gone. This is a trick I learned from my dad who is also a mechanic and shop owner for 35 years.Give it a try and let me know.Good luck.

2002 Jeep Liberty: Battery cable loose wire was

first, though you mentioned no oil leaking, is there oil in the engine?
Next, if engine runs well and is not ticking or tapping, have the codes checked...most larger parts stores do this free. Once you have the stored codes you can look up what system is malfunctioning.
If engine is making any noise at all or there is no oil in it, DO NOT START OR DRIVE IT...make sure whoever did the oil change knows about this now...If someone forgot to put oil in, they may be buying you a new engine!
At this point it may be something simple but can also be very serious.(hope not)
good luck

Where is the oil pump located on jeep liberty 2002

oil pump is in the oil pan, sounds like your problem is in the crank bearings if one crank bearing goes you will loose oil pressure causing oil light to come on.

2001 Buick Century Ticking Noise

Okay, lets hope it is something simple. Remove the underhood light bulb. At night, in the dark, start the engine and look under the hood. You may be able to see sparks jumping. This would be bad wires. If you can see where the spark plugs go and one has a spark jumping it is just one bad sparkplug. Turn off car-replace underhood bulb.
If you see no sparks then it is most likely the valve train. If you have adjustable lifters they need someone to tighten them up to specifications. If they are not adjustable you may need to replace worn parts.
Make sure you keep fresh and plenty of oil in the engine. It can not repair worn parts but if the oil is low or dirty you will have bigger problems.

Rapping/ticking sound in my 2001 Chevy tracker engine.

does it go tick tick tick tick and when it warms up it stops or goes quiet?
its your lifters not getting enough oil
when u change your oil it will stop till that oil gets worn out
you will have to replace the lifters or it can also be a slack oil pump not pumping oil around the engine like it should

Modifications to my 2008 subaru liberty non turbo 5 speed man

Start with a higher flowing airfilter( a replacement panel one in your factory airbox,as a pod filter will **** hot air and off set any flow gains that it gives) a larger diameter exhuast is next and im unsure of what sensors are in your 08 subaru but theres always away of getting around it. They are the best bang for buck modifications you can do and should net you 7-10kw at the wheels, most things after that can get expensive after that on a N/A motor and the airfilter is easy to do yourself , any exhaust place can take care of your exhaust. help this helps.
