Lifters are usually replaced in sets with the cam or rods and rockers, replacing just one lifter, rare, but if it is making noise, then just locate the trouble maker, you can run the engine with the rocker cover off, find the bad one, shut of engine, loosen up the rocker, twist it out of the way, pull the rod out, then go in the hole with a piece of heavy wire, rod, steel, with a cut in the bottom to hook on the lip of the lifter, then pull it out. Put it all back, you should be all set.

What are the correct rockers/lifters to order when replacing ALL of them on 97 nissan pickup?

A normal sohc 4 cyl. has 4 intake and 4 exhaust.
That motor has 8 intake valves (2 in each cyl.) and 4 exhausts.
I thought all the lifters were the same ,but if what you say is correct you need 4 intake front ,4 intake rears and the 4 exhaust,if they were all bad.

Looking to adjust valves on a 2.2 chevy motor in a Corsica hydraulick lifter

Sorry but there is no valve adjustment with hydraulic lifters - can turn the lifter upside down fill with oil - let sit for a while and then tap on the lifters to see if they make noise - if noisy replace.  Camshaft may be worn on the lobes or may have jumped timing if belt.

Noisy lifters

Marvel Mytery Oil has always been known to cure sticky lifters. Another old trick is to add a qt. of trans fluid inplace of motor oil next time you top it off. Trans fluid is very high detergent.

1989 Isuzu Trooper 6 cyl. what's the latest year

1989. Later models had changes to other components and fuel systems that make cross-over nearly impossible without intensive parts swapping.

Noisy lifter in 1999 dodge dakota 2.5l 4 cyl. is cyl. head removal necessary to change ?

No just yet before you go to all that expense and trouble. The lifter may just need cleaning. Go to Advance Auto Parts and purchase a can of Seaform Motor Treatment. This is not an oil additive. This is a fantastic product that just may clean your lifters and stop the noise. Read about it here and watch the video. You put it in the crankcase as per the instructions on the can. You can also get it at other retailers and marine supply stores. http://www.seafoamsales.com/motor-treatment/index.html

I have a 89 ford ranger with a 2.9 v 6 and the lifters are tapping it has good oil pressure .

Very common problem, some 2.9L were mechanical lifters that required adjustment, others have trouble with the hydraulic liters being noisy.

Need help replacing wires on dist cap 1987 4 cyl Trooper

Firing order is stamped on the block intake manifold or label. 4 cyl are typically 1324

From the web:
The firing order for four cylinder engines where the cylinders are in-line is 1243 or 1342.
Those are the only two possibilities I've ever found for inline four cylinder engines. In practice, it's almost always 1342, except for Ford engines which are 1243.

Take one off at a time and replace it

Do not run the wires parallel (side-by-side) for more than 6". Cross them over each other wavy-like if needed. This will prevent crossfire.

Replace Points, Plugs, Condenser, Rotor and Cap too.

Good luck!
