Occassionally wont start in the morning when cold. Will crank over, has done this twice in the last two weeks, it sounds like the fuel pump is kicking on. when it does start (hours later) it runs fine

I don't know if it is water in the fuel freezing. This morning it was aprox. 30 degtrees when I frist tried it. And about 35 when I nest tried it. However, it just started right up for me now, and it' no warmer than 35 drgrees. Plus it started for me when the temps were below zero a few montha ago. ?? It's turning over, and I believe the fule pump is working, so I'm at a loss.

What kind of cold temperatures are you talking about? Cold enough to freeze water in the fuel lines? Try adding some fuel cleaner. Consider replacing the fuel filter.

My guess is that you need to buy a new battery. Hear that clicking sound? That's your solenoid telling you it's not getting the juice it needs to turn over the engine. The dash and dome lights might work but there's not enough amps to start. It's only going to get worse. It's very easy to install a new battery yourself. Make sure the terminal and cables are in good shape. You shold also clean the battery area with a mixture of baking soda and water to neturalize the acid.

2004 Yukon got to where gas pedal had to be on floor to start in cold weather. this morning was very cold and it will crank but wont start at all, fuel pump is good.

Sounds like you cold start injector may have gone bad. Pushing a gas pedal to the floor usually stops a fuel injected vehicle from allowing fuel into the cylinders, try pushing the pedal about half the way instead of to the floor and have the cold start injector checked or changed.

Sounds like your fuel pump relay is out. It's very common on these older Hondas. Quite pricy too.

95 lincoln cont. occassional crank fast ,but no start ,intermittent ,later will instantly start as should

I think what you have going on here is a failing electric fuel pump, this is what they do when they are worn out, it is a rotary pump and the rotor sticks due to worn bearings. To confirm this get a can of spray starting fluid from any auto parts store, next time it won't start spray it into the air intake hose to the engine, if it fires right up you have a bad pump. The fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank, remember to also replace the fuel filter when the pump is replaced. Also check the connector to the fuel pump cutoff safety switch for signs of melting, replace the switch and connector as needed, this is caused by a defective fuel pump drawing excessive current.

My 2000 eclipse wont start up all the way

I have the same problem on my 2002 Eclipse RS 2.4l 4 cylinder. Replaced the battery, starter, fuel pump(not at one time) . It started up when I had the starter put on as well the fuel pump. But everytime I started the car up it ran good till I turned it off the problem was still there. The car sounds like it wants to start but it sputters you can smell the gas so I know its getting fuel. it starts up fine with a cold start like in the morning.

Try getting a diagnostic thats what Im going to do next week.
good luck!!!

98 Grand Cheeroke wont start in the morning when its cold out

10-12 volts, that is low, have the battery load tested at a local parts store like Autozone, it's free.
