Soak around the center hub with penetrating fluid allow to sit for a bit then use a med. hammer(ball pien) and repeatedly strike drum with force in between each wheel stud(don't hit studs, this should loose the drum from the hub and alow it to come off. If there is a heavy drum ridge inside you will need a brake tool to loosen of the self adjuster so that the drum ridge will clear the brake shoes!

Try to warm them with a good size torch, but on LOW temp or risk melting all the rubber seals, just warm up and TAP around the drum while trying to turn them.

on yearly cleaning & inspection

Is that not what you have done for years on any vehicle
you have owned ?

You go to a doctor or several, several times a year,so
does your car need attention

Took off 2 bolts to put new pads on the piece holding pads wont come off drum

You don't need to remove any bolts to remove the rear shoes with a drum brake system. Can you post a pic of what you are doing?

Rear brake drum is sticking how do you remove brake drum?

Remove wheel and make sure parking brake is off. Pull on drum. If it won't move take a big hammer and hit the sholder of the drum They will get rust on them and may stick. A quick jar with a hammer usually helps with this. http://www.ehow.com/video_2327529_remove-tires-brake-drum.html

Removing rear wheel bearings

I'm assuming this is not awd. Remove wheel, Brake drum. Remove 4 attaching bolts from the inside, Remove the wheel speed sensor, A slide hammer with a wheel flange works best as these don't like to come out. Using rust penetrant may help. If you are replacing bearings and not reusing, a hammer may help you. You may need to remove upper brake springs, and pull shoes apart slightly for clearance.

What is a spindle on a 1999 pontiac grand prix?

It's the main part of the suspension, supported by the control arms. It holds the wheel bearing and is there the brakes and wheels are mounted.

1993 Pontiac Grand AM rear Brake problem. Seems to happen only after the car has sat overnight or in the rain. Mechanic sees no physical problems. Has cleaned, bleed, etc. The ABS light did come on a few...

You don't say what the rear brake problem is. Do they screech? Could be rust. Did the tech put the rubber plugs back in the backing plates? They keep out water and condensation. Look underneath the car at the backing plates; there should be elongated holes there. Some techs neglect to lube all the components when they do a brake job. Hmmm, some of those Grand Am's have disc brakes in the rear instead of drums. They stop better but they're more trouble.Might try a different tech. (One with GM experience), Good Luck.

2006 Pontiac Torrent rear drums

They pull off just like any other vehicle, unless you live in an area where they use salt. Brake and suspension parts on these rust and sieze quickly. Soak with penetrating oil and keep tapping around perimiter. I do this for a living, and I've had Torrent drums take me hours to break loose (I'm surprised the wheels even came off)

2004 pontiac grand am

Did you "scuff" up the front rotors??? Sounds like the may be "glazed". Also if the rear drums did come off that easy I suggest adjusting. You should feel very slight "drag" when you spin rear drum. Good luck
