Hi - Sorry to hear you're having problems.
My expert advice is to take it to a shop. The idea that wheel bearings are easy is not true - and if done wrong could cost you your life.
Please consider letting a professional do it as it is costly just to purchase the tools and is dangerous even with the car on jack stands.

Thanks

Riceski

My 2002 Volkswagon jetta is showing a code for cylinder 2 misfire. I replaced the plugs, no change. What's next

check wires for opens or arcing. does it feel like a hard miss? also could be a plugged fuel injector or a vacuum leak near that cylinder.

My 2000 volkswagon jetta 2.0 makes a loud humming when i drive fast i go the louder it gets sounds like its coming from the tire?

does it change when you swerve from right to left? when you swerve not hard turn but just slight motion enough to shift wait of car. you have worn out wheel bearings either one side or both. very hard to do at home unless you have a 2 ton press and snap ring pliers. not a fun job. Does the sound have a rotational sound. that would be the first thing to look at how many miles on the car?

I am changing front wheel bearings on 2001 vw jetta. I have the nut off the axle but have not been able to get the hub off in order to get to the bearing. Will I need a gear puller or something similar to...

2 options:  take it to a shop the bearing comes compresed with the hub. you need a machine to do that or buy the hub with the bearing...I say shop its less expensive. GOOD LUCK!
