I have a 2000 hyundae elantra GLS I'm getting power to the big wire on the starter but none to the small one when I try to start it

Possible ignition starter switch problem, test it and see if starter solenoid power is leaving the switch when the key is turned to start. You will need a wiring diagram.

My 2000 Hyunda Elantra returns a P0501 code. Which sensor is this?

The code P0501 indicates that the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) is out of range. This may be due to a bad sensor or bad or dirty wiring/connector. I'm not sure exactly where the sensor is located on the Elantra but it's on the transmission possibly around the differential housing near one of the axle shafts. Hope this help.

Trans. won't shift when its supposed to

This model/year has both sensors on the same harness... you can't replace one without replacing the other (unless you modify the wire harness). One is on top, the other is on the side toward the radiator.

2002 hyunda elantra gls power steering pulley sticks and squeals. belts were recently replaced and are tight..fluid level is normal and there are no visible leaks.

dear friend-if you remove the belt and turn the pump and it does not stick then the pulley is worn out causing the belt to slip.
