1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the front wheels with a 19mm tire socket or equivalant.
3. Locate the brake caliper and remove the two retaining bolts from the caliper(they are iether a allen wrench or torx style bolt)
4. Use a prybar and pry gently between the rotoe and caliper to loosen the caliper from its postion then lift it off the bracket.
5. Remove the old pads from the caliper and using a big c clamp or calpiper compression tool and the old inner pad compress the caliper piston back in all the way.
6. Install new pads into caliper and re assemble in reverse order.
SOURCE: 04 grand prix shuts off
My 04 Grand Prix was doing the same thing. Not sure if what I found was the reason for it, but I removed the air filter portion of the intake, reached into the intake a little pulling the throttle plate down. It was caked in carbon build up. With a lint free rag and some throttle body cleaner, I scrubbed the plate and since have not had anymore issues with the car not starting. Hope this helps anyone.
SOURCE: Type of Screwdriver to remove front door panel 04 grand prix
should just be a philips screw
You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle,
arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the
panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want
to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal
(can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to
access everything inside the door

very easy kinda self explanatory once you dive into it. just take a pic of the rear if u cant memorize the way it goes. then put it all back together the same way with new pads.
SOURCE: 04 Grand Prix oil leak
if it is not leaking then it is being burned by the engine, how many miles go by before you need to add oil?, if u are adding more than one quart every 1000 miles u have piston reing problems and or valve guide seal leaks. U won't see any smoke in most cases unless you are really going through the oil, like 1 quart every 300 miles.

check your water pump for leaks. If its coming for the pump housing it will need to be replaced. Check the gasket area where the pump bolts to the block.. If water is not from the pump or around it check your hoses and clamps. check thermostat housing.
