I need to find where is the starter of the 2001 cadillac deville ,,, looks like its no working , when i turn the key nothing hapning, my first option, alarm, i checked, my second option, battery, i checked , my third opition is the starter, but its hard to know where is it , so can you help me to find where is the starter located?

when you said starting problem do you mean that here is no crank start at all,or it clicks on turning the key,or crunch on attempting to start,or does it turn hard? Would you please be more specific to see if I can help you?
You need to check and see if you have power to the starter,the purple wire while someone is turning the key to run.Should have at least 9 volts to the solenoid.Sometimes if you tap the starter with a hammer while turning key to run and it turns over it is the starter.
I have had the same problem and I have come to the conclusion it is the security system. After 3 minutes the car will start so there is nothing wrong with the battery or starter. I have had it to the dealer a few times and they cannot solve it. It may be the locks on the doors and they may not be resetting properly. I have learned to live with it.
Your security system inside your steering wheel is probably gone bad and needs to be replaced.This is a dealer job or a very experienced auto elactric shop.
IT SOUNDS LIKE THE BATTERY NEEDS MORE JUICE TO TURN THE STARTER. HAVE IT CHARGED. AND THEN HAVE THE ALTERNATOR TESTED AT YOUR LOCAL AUTO PARTS PLACE FOR FREE. PERHAPS THE ALTERNATOR IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY.I HOPE THIS HELPS. THANKS FOR USING FIX-YA.
