My Maintenance light is on my Honda 2004 CRV, I have 53000 miles and have not replaced my batttery, why would the maintenance light come on and not go off?

valve adjustments are recommended every 60 to 70 K miles. the plugs are also a good idea at this interval as a maintenance item along with a fuel filter.

Go to a parts store and have them plug a scan tool in to it. Most places do this free. A shop will charge 100 dollars. They will give you a code with the problem.

First to check with OBD codes reader, this is one advise to fault; when you have this number (code) the clues for solve the problem are more.

its a reminder light to get your oil change it turn on every 3000 miles to turn the light off turn the car off and hold down down the reset trip botton for your miles and while holdin down the botton turn the car on but dont start it just leave it in acc mode hold the botton for about a min the turn the car on you might hace to do this a few times

The vehicle needs the computer code to be read and acted upon by a mechanic.

Your maintenance light is not jusy for the oil it could be your air filter needing to be replaced

Rule of thumb this is a timeing belt and it should be changed every 75,000 mile as a general practice. I hope this helps, dont forget to rate my answer, thanks
