I have two fault codes 00172 and 00111 what do

Unlikely speed sensor - I haven't ever heard of a speed sensor causing an engine to stop.

The fact a light came on, presumably the engine light, means a fault code will be stored in the computer memory and a code read should provide a starting point for investigation.

P1111 is not a fault code. It is a special designator Jaguar uses meaning system ready, drive cycles completed after the last fault event. P1000, on the other hand, means system not ready, or drive cycles not completed after the last recorded fault event.

Some OBD II Basics - All P0xxx codes are generic and uniform across all manufacturers and mean the same on every car. All P1xxx codes are manufacturer specific codes. You cannot use a generic code chart to analyze P1xxx codes for a Jaguar.

Next time your car displays an engine fault light, try reading the codes then. If you have a CEL illuminated and the only code read is P1000 or P1111, then you probably have a fault that generic code readers cannot see. Could be a chassis code, for example.

One last thing - Neither P1000, nor P1111 can be erased.

THi there; The V.ehicle identification number usually includes the code you seek. The owners manual explains the meaning of each number and letter in the VIN. Good Luck and thank you for using fix-ya.

have the computer checked for a fault with the throttle position sensor(tps)It does not always trigger the check engine light.I am not sure if there is an easily hired or purchase fault code reader for this model.You may have to go to Jaguar centre for this.Throttle bodies should be clean on this model.hope this helps or get back to me with findings.

P1693 - DTC Detected in Companion JTEC Mod

Companion code, saying there was once a code that popped up, it means that the powertrain control module(JTEC) has found a diagnostic trouble code stored in another module on the truck.
