I have a 2003 dodge stratus with 80k miles and its doing like a puttering or hesitation when i accelerate or i guess u would say its jerking when i give it some gas im not shure whats going on with it anyone have a clue what it could be?

Usually a scanner to read the engine fault code could lead to the correct diagnosis and repair. But if this transmission was recently repaired bring it back and tell them to do their job.

There are a lot of things that can cause that, such as water in your gas. However, I would start simple and make sure all your spark plug wires are firmly attached. It can also be related to your transmission slipping.

have the vehicle scanned for error codes at autozone, its free. Post codes for more help....These engines have issues with the COPs (ignition coils-over-plugs) failing prior to 80k miles. When they fail typical problems are: Sputtering under load/acceleration, rough idle, random misfires, random stalling, light or heavy jerking under load (usually at 15-35mph and 45-65mph)..hopefully this helps!!

P3044 is not a valid code,
you need to have the codes read on a OBD2 to get to the correct code.Autozone checks codes for free.

Have the catalytic converters checked. The are warrantied 8 years 80k miles.

I would have the catylic convertor checked.
Then have the transmission check . I am guessing the transmission is automatic. The torque convertor could be shuttering when slowing down to a stop.

hey autozone as well as advanced will test ur codes...but i would check injectors or plugs
