Is it an automatic? if it is check the fluid level is it low? if yes add fluid to the transmisson, if the fluid is a brownish color and smells like onions then the fluid is burnt and you will need to change the filter and 12 quarts of transmisson fluid. This is going to be the cheepest fix that you can do to find out if this is the problem, one the fluid is changed and it still does it then the bands and clutches are going out or the tork converter is going bad regardless it will have to be checked by a transmisson shop. the fluid and filter will cost you about $70.00 if you do the job yourself. Good luck and thanks for using fix-ya and hope this helps.

Vibration in transmission

I do not know if this vehicle has a torque converter lockup or not, but sounds like it. Does the transmission stop shaking when you go over 65? Some vehicles have a torque converter lockup, which means when the vehicle is traveling at a certain speed in high gear the torque converter "locks" and there is no slippage to the transmission resulting in better fuel economy. if the torque converter doesn't "unlock" when you slow down to say 45 then the engine will "lug" causing vibration. If this is the case you are not hurting anything by driving, just shift to 3 when it shakes then upshift under lighter load, or take it to a shop that replaces transmission sensors.

Acura Integra 1.8L automatic transmission wont shift gears? its like its stuck in first?

Does the engine accelerate okay? Shifting to any other gear help? Check the transmission fliud level, if it is full (and brown or black) you need a rebuild, if it is low add fluid to full mark and try again.

Hi i have a 2001 honda accord ex v6 coup. it had an automatic transmission when i put it in reverse it jerks really hard an shakes the car sometimes. when i put it in first gear it jerks the car alittle...

I suggest you have a transmission shop take a close look at your vehicle. That year accord with a v6 and automatic transmission had a recall for the transmission and your problem seems to be a slowly dying tranny.

My 2002 trailblazer is making a noise when I go over 45 mph and appears to not be going in gear quickly at that speed

Check your transmission fluid level and/or have the fluid changed. If problem persist have a transmission professional at a dealership or transmission shop service it.

Sluggish and no pwer up a hill. Almost backfiring in second gear.

Yea probably the bad gas clogged the filter or clogged an already dirty fuel filter. Try changing it. If not I would say try using a lower gear by turning off the overdrive.

2004 GMC sierra 5.3 eng 1500 transmission shutter 40-55 mph

I too have that problem. I own a 2005 GMC Yukon. Shutters between 40 + 55 mph. I thought for sure the stumble I felt was a plug or coil pack because it only does it under a load. With A/C on the whole truck shakes! But it wasnt the plugs or coil packs. Answers anyone?
