Here is Video of How to replace front brake pads and rotors, and rear brake pads on toyota camry solara 2006
Check the pads for wear (1/8th inch min)you do not need to take brakes apart for this.if they need replacing ,dont forget to use copper grease on the back of the pads to stop squeel.if the rotors/discs are badly scored, replace, with new pads then your set for another couple of years....brake/rotor replacement same for nearly all cars.
OK, you could have a few different problems here. You mention that you have the noise when you drive. I assume here you are not applying the brakes? If it is, then you could have a couple of problems here. Firstly, it might be that a small stone has become lodged between the brake disc/rotor and the disc/rotor back splash plate. If you gently prise the back-plate away from the rotor/disk, you might even see the offending stone chipping drop out and that might be the end of your troubles. The other thing to look at is the thickness of the pads, both inside and outside pads on both sides – they may be touching the rotor/disc thus giving you the noise. If the pads thickness are fine and you have checked there are no trapped stones between the rotor/disc and splash plate, then I’d recommend that the pads are removed for a more detailed investigation and if they are fine, when they are replaced, ensure that an appropriate high temperature grease is applied to only the pad and calliper contact areas. Hope this helps, Scottech
