Best thing youcan do is to go to your local auto parts shop and buy a Haynes repair manual, they are $15 to $20. You can also buy it on line from several vendors. This is a good idea specially if you are planning on doing jobs like this on your car.
These manulas are well wriiten and I use them all the time.

Timing belt

Nancy, the Honda recommendations are to change belt 100,000 Km/ 60000 miles or every 7 years which ever occurs first. So if timing belt has not been changed, YES change it. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

How many miles to replace 2000 honda accord LX V6 3.0

i am guessing that you are asking about replacing the timing belt on your honda .. if so then here is the replacement schedule

under normal driving 105,000 miles or 84 months
under extreme temp 60,000 miles or every 48 months (hot or cold climates)

its a good idea to change the water pump and tensioner pullies at the same time.. they dont add much to the parts cost ...

its not a good idea to wait for belt failure. interference engines like yours will do a lot of damage if the belt fails.

What else needs to be changed when doing a timing belt on a 1999 honda accord? and about how much should it cost?

Technically, nothing else needs to be changed when replacing a timing belt, however it is recommended or suggested to replace the timing belt tensioner and water pump while doing the belt. These items are only accessable when doing a timing belt. The cost should be under $100.00

WHEN DOES THE TIMING BELT FOR A 2004 HONDA ACCORD GET REPLACED?

It depends on the engine. The 4 cylinder engine uses a timing chain, and is generally replaced every 150,000 miles (Honda doesn't give a specific interval) with the water pump (driven off of the timing chain) and timing gears. On the V6 engine, you have a regular rubber/steel belt, and it is supposed to be replaced every 105,000 miles, according to Honda. The water pump is driven off the belt as well, and should be inspected or replaced. (I recommend replacing the water pump anyway, just to save yourself any future trouble)

What all is involved with replacing water pump on 1986 Honda Acc?

your water pump is in the timing case and requires you to take timing case, timring belt, motor mount and water pump off, then you have to put all back on but you will need to make sure you reset the timing before starting the engine
