1997 GMC Sierra- won't start unless you put fuel in the throttle body, but runs good until you turn it off. You have to use the fuel in the throttle body every time you want to crank it. What's wrong? Any help would be great!

This sounds like a fuel pump going bad. I had the same problem with a '97 sierra and replacing the pump was the only way to fix it.

Start injectrer deffcctive (unlikely) or out of circit!
But more likely fuel preshure is douwn! check your fuel pump for preshure, once started the engine can live with that for a time I think you will find it is that!

97 gmc siera on cold days have to dump fuel into throttle body to start, runs fine after??

look into throttle body while cranking.see if you see fuel spray.if not, low fuel pressure of pluged fuel filter. also coolant temp or tps sensor could be at fault.have vehicle sensors scan tested for values..

97 chevy blazer w/ 4.3 won't start unless i pour full directly into it....what is causing this. was driving and it just stalled ...fires but won't turn over completely

if you can put fuel in throttle body and it runs. then it is not getting any fuel. check your fuel pump fuse and the relay, if ok, then you may have a bad fuel pump or a plugged up fuel filter. check filter and fuses first. good-day !!

2001 gmc sierra 1500 not getting fuel

remove fuel line from throttle body and have someone try to start. If no fuel is "shooting" out of line, there is a block. clean out line or replace.

2000 GMC Sierra 3500 losing acceleration power

next time it happens try spraying water in mist form around the throttle body if it bogs, replace the throttle body gasket. if it doesn't bog you may have a bad wire wait until dark start the vehicle have someone feed the fuel very slowly and watch for arching from a wire it will be easy to see when it is dark, replace that wire.
