Power to the heating element has to be verified. Are you familiar with a test light? If power is present then heating wires built in to seat are broken. This can be checked with an ohm meter. Good luck!

Mazdas are pretyy bad about the seat heating elements burning out. To verify that the problem is not the circuits to the elements, remove the 4 bolts holding the seat to the floor and tilt the seat back. Find the 2 pn connector for the heating element under the seat. (On the driver's side it will have a White and Red wire and a Yellow and Red wire. On the passenger side it will have a White and Red wire and a Green wire) Disconnect the connector. Using a standard 12 volt test light and a paper clip, use the paper clip to connect on end of the test light to the White and Red wire and probe the Yellow and Red (or the Green wire) with the test light probing end. With the ignition switch on and the seat switches turned on, the test lamp should light up. If it does, you need to replace the heating element in the seat. If it does not light up, post a comment to let me know, and I'll talk you through diagnosing the heater circuits.
Possibly.... the only way I know to diagnosis this issue is with an amp meter in the circuit that heats the seats. Compare LH & RH seat heating current draw. If you find the pass seat is NOT drawing the same amount of current, further troublshooting is required. There are TWO heating elements installed in the seats -- seat bottom & seat back, and they are connected in 'SERIES'... so if either element goes/is 'OPEN', then it's component replacement time. There is a thermostat in the heating elements -- it regulates the seat temperature. One must isolate the two elements & check each one individually (seat bottom - checking resistance... and seat back - checking resistance). whichever one (or possibly both) are 'OPEN'. If you find resistance is normal (3 to 5 ohms), then the problem/cause may be in the switch (or its contacts). Using a test light (12 volt bulb), check for power (battery voltage) at the heating element connector to ground (chassis). If the bulb lights up, you know you have power at the switch and is sending it to the heating elements.
First off, I would contact your local Jeep dealer and have them run your VIN # to check for any recalls. The 1999-2004 Grand Cherokees had a recall on the seat heaters. If your vehicle doesn't fall into the VIN # range then either your seat heater switch has gone out, or you have a broken element in the seat heater. I have replaced more seat heaters than switchsm the elements heat up and break. Hope this helps out.
I have not used my heated seat all summer long, the heated seat did not work in winter when putting the switch on,so i opened the switch cleaned the contacts with (brake cleaner spray) and boom started to work.
more than likely it is the heating element in the seat that went bad. if there is a light on the switch it should be getting power and the heating elements under the seat coushin do go bad. it is not an uncommon thing.
The most probable cause for your problem is the heating grid that is mounted on the set for heating it, it is under the seat cover, the light will act weird because it is not completing the circuit. Raise the seat cover and visually look at it, it should be burnt.
Ok it is obvious since the light is coming on you are getting power to the switch. It could be a heated seat relay. Im fairly sure jeeps use a relay after the switch that is where I would start. Check and see if the Heated seat relay, and fuse are good
Sounds like the same problem I had. I brought it to the Jeep dealer and they told me that the heating element in the seat stopped working. They told me that the only way to repair was to take the seat apart and replace the heating element in the seat. Of course they will charge you the standard $80 to tell you this. and then quote you $500 plus to repair. I can't even remember how much, I have decided it was not worth it.
